Priyanka in Vishal's next

After portraying 12 different roles of bride-to-be in What's Your Raashee?, bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is finally playing the role of a bride, not to one man but seven different men. The actress is gearing up for yet another multiple role in Vishal Bhardwaj's next titled 7 Husbands. This is quite interesting...

Priyanka in Vishal's next

Vishal was very impressed with Priyanka while working with her in the movie Kaminey. He always referred to her as a dedicated and devoted actress. While scripting for 7 Husbands, without any second thought, he made up his mind to cast Priyanka Chopra in the movie.

In the upcoming film 7 Husbands, Priyanka Chopra will again be seen in seven different avatars of wives to seven different men. Priyanka will have different get ups for each wife. The seven different actors for the role of husbands haven't been finalized as yet.

The movie is still in the scripting process. The movie will go on floors next year after Priyanka Chopra's dates are available. Good going lady...

Salman and Katrina's split

Bollywood couple Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have sparked the news all around that they have split. At least if their chemistry at the recent success party of the film Kanjeevaran is any indication.

Salman and Katrina's

It is said that the lovebirds behaved like strangers at the party. Salman Khan came in without Katrina Kaif and posed for the cameras. Katrina came in with designer Rocky S. Even the couple didn't interact with each other during the entire party. They were so near yet so far.

What's all this only Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif can answer this....

Good Times Ahead for Bollywood

The Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, on October 17 is seen as a banker for Bollywood as holiday time begets a lot of entertainment demand.

Good Times Ahead for Bollywood

Big budget films like the Warner Bros. co-production "Chandni Chowk To China", "Delhi 6" and the Shahrukh Khan release "Billu" all disappointed this year at the box office. Then, a glut of new films are due out as the 2.3-billion-dollar Bollywood business looks to recover from a multiplex cinema boycott, swine flu fears and a series of expensive flops.

We anticipate "good times" ahead for the industry over the next three months.

The stakes were "extremely high for both producers and distributors as it is the first festive season in several years where over half-a-dozen very big films are scheduled for release.

Producer-director Karan Johar's comedy "Wake Up Sid" kicks off the battle of the blockbusters on October 2, on Diwali weekend itself. "All The Best", a comedy, "Blue", an underwater odyssey and Salman Khan's second "comeback" film, "Main Aur Mrs Khanna" (Me And Mrs Khanna), are out on October 16.

The following week sees the release of Khan's third new film, "London Dreams", and the animation "Aladin", with voices by Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan. Bachchan returns in November with "Paa" (Father), about a boy with a premature ageing condition, going up against "Kurbaan" (Sacrifice), with Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, "Jail" and "Tum Mile".

Actor-producer-director Aamir Khan comes to end off the year with "3 Idiots" on Christmas Day, December 25. But Diwali regularly sees films compete with one another. "Ultimately, a good film works irrespective of whenever it is released." Hope so!

Rajeev ready to go bald for Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Rajeev Khandelwal is racing fast to perform with perfection for his next two films, Sourabh Narang’s Return Gift and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Chenab Gandhi. While for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film he needs to get fluent in Urdu and familiar with the pre-Partition era, the preparation for Narang’s film is even more complex and elaborate.

Rajeev Khandelwal

For Return Gift, Rajeev plays an Indian bureaucrat on a mission to Pakistan, Rajeev will have to meet bureaucrats from both sides of the border to understand the intricacies of across-the-border diplomacy.

Before Rajeev goes into Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production of Chenab Gandhi, he has allotted dates to Sourabh Narang’s Return Gift, which requires him to play an Indian civil servant on a diplomatic mission.

Bachchans couldn't forget ignorance at IIFA awards in UK

Amitabh Bachchan has been a great force in the bollywood for years and his bahu Aishwarys Rai as the 'Face of Bollywood' to the westerners. But after winning the award for Big Brother in UK by Shilpa Shetty, everything has been changed. Shilpa's publicist Dale Bhagwagar, taking the advantage of sympathy in the controversy about the show Big Brother, attacked on her by throwing the remarks on her. This controversy made people angry in India. Consequently, Shilpa 'The Diva of India' had replaced the Bachchans as the 'Face of Bollywood'.

Amitabh Bachchan

After that Shilpa Shetty anchored the indian version of the show Bigg Boss and got so famous. Bachchans are not happy with the success of Shilpa because it is obvious that they were ignored because of Shilpa's publicity through Big Brother as on IIFA awards that was held in UK. Also one incident at IIFA awards embarrased Bachchans when a boy flew a small airplane consisting of a flag greeting Shilpa at IIFA awards. Bachchans tried to make a distance from Shilpa during the event.

Even after two years, Bachchans do remember the incident and feel embarrased. Now Amitabh Bachchan who has successfully anchored the show Kaun Banega Krorepati, is preparing to anchor the Shilpa's show Big Boss. In this way Amitabh is taking his revenge from Shilpa and it seems to be a cold war.

Rupali Guha has no place for Shahid in her film

The Chak De casting director Abhimanyu Ray was debutant director Rupali Guha’s saviour. After Rupali saw the way the new girls had been cast in Chak De she gathered the courage to make her first film Aamras with four new girls.

Shahid

The movie was an insipiration for her and no matter how much the pressure to get stars, she gladly stuck to the four news girls Vega, Natasha, Manvi and Aanchal who are the backbone of her film which is about girl bonding.

Debutant director Rupali Guha has a hard act to follow. Her father is the formidably prolific Basu Chatterjee and her father-in-law is the equally formidable Dulal Guha. Both legendary in there own right.

And yet Rupali had to knock from door to door to get her first screenplay approved. “I went to everyone from UTV onwards. They all said, ‘Who’ll watch this film?’ Or worse, ‘Get Shahid Kapoor to play the boyfriend.’ How could I fit Shahid Kapoor into a film about the bonding among four 18-year-old girls played by four absolutely new faces?”

But she refused and is adamant and confident of her story and film.

The story of Aamras was born from debutant director Rupali Guha’s 13-year old daughter Jonaki’s experiences. With Aamras she is all set to open up my daughter’s world. Next, Rupali is working on script called Cinderella about a girl’s dreams of a Prince Charming falling to pieces.

The Hard work behind making My Name is Khan

Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan had put in a lot of hard work in making My Name is Khan. So Much so that SRK continues to practice the body language and the speech patterns of his autistic character, Rizwan Khan even at home.

Hard work behind making My Name is Khan

Before Shah Rukh Khan played the autistic character in My Name Is Khan, Karan Johar met Londoner Chris Aston who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome and his wife Maxine who wrote a book on how to cope with a spouse suffering from the disease.

And that couple’s relationship became the basis of Rizwan and Mandira’s relationship in My Name Is Khan.

At its core level this film is a love story.

Karan has co-scripted the film with writer Shibani Bhatija who has researched extensively on various aspects of an autistic disorder Then Shah Rukh did his own research.

Karan admits this has been the most difficult film of his career. It has taken its toll on the actor director duo. But Karan cuts down the theory that Shah Rukh’s disorder is inspired from Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.

The syndrome does convey a fair amount of quirks and eccentricities. But his character is not essentially neuro-typical. The film has made me understand human behavior and how to be compassionate and humane.

The film will see the hot pair SRK and Kajol return back on-screen after a hiatus of eight long years.

Govinda's name, Chi Chi's meaning revealed!

For all of us have been wondering for quite some time now? Our Hero No.1, Govinda is fondly called by a name Chi Chi. But nobody for long had any idea what does that mean.In a recent appearance on Sa Re Ga Ma L’il Champs, the little host, Afsha, asked Govinda what his nickname Chi Chi means and the man himself revealed the meaning of his name.

Govinda

Govinda flashed his beaming smile and replied that Chi Chi means Lord Krishna’s little finger that carried the weight of the Govardhan Mountain. Apparently, it was Govinda’s mother, Nirmala Devi, who came up with both names, Chi Chi and Govinda.

Govinda was hugely emotional while talking about his beloved mother late Smt. Nirmala Devi and was in tears when a contestant sang the song, Maa from Taare Zameen Par. He admits that the only time he felt low and lonely was when his parents passed away.

Yoga and meditation helped him out of his depression and bad times too. Well, aren’t we happy to see the King of Comedy smile all the time?
