Sushmita Sen has shed those extra pounds, might have taken the harsh comments on her heart. After being criticized for her heavy weight, Sushmita seems to have taken her weight issue seriously. Recently she looked great at a press conference of her film ‘Do Knot Disturb’ where everyone seemed surprised to see the change in her.The film also stars Govinda and Riteish Deshmukh

Sush has lost weight and looks more graceful than ever before. Her new fit and well toned look is extremely impressive that it was hard to imagine that the same Sush was criticized few months back for her plump figure.There are also news that she has not shelved her dream project the mega budgeted historical war epic Rani Laxmi Bai , contrary to reports. Reportedly, Sushmita was planning to go in for a co-production of the project with legendary filmmaker Manmohan Desai sharing the humungous Rs. 130 crore budget. With recession creeping in most of Bollywood's big projects, this is indeed a huge risk.Sushmita is indeed un – conventional and bindaas!!! Needless to say after shading oodles of weight this bong babe is looking much younger also.

Big B-SRK the two Stalwarts team up in Farah's next

Amitabh Bachchan is teaming up with Shah Rukh Khan for his production Happy New Year..and by the end of 2009, will shoot for it too.. under the direction of Farah Khan. When the movie was first planned, SRK wasn’t too pleased with the way the storyline was shaping up in the second half. Besides, Bachchan saab wasn’t keeping too well then. So the actor-producer and his director-friend chose to put Happy New Year on hold and started work on another script, Om Shanti Om.

Meanwhile, Farah reworked the script and now that SRK and she are pleased with it, they have decided to make Happy New Year next. The duo will start working on it once SRK completes Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan , who had expressed his willingness to be a part of the movie then, is believed to be pleased with the script and has even allotted his dates for the shoot.

I just hope this puts an end to all speculations of star wars etc.

Model-turned actress Gul Panag is determined to stick to her policy of being very choosy about her roles.On her upcoming flick straight with Vinay Pathak, Gul says, “It’s a romantic comedy and completely original.” But what about Rann ?

Gul she says that she is very excited about this Ram Gopal Verma film, which is rumoured to be based on the recent Mumbai attacks. It has Ritesh deshmukh, Amitabh Bachchan, and Paresh Rawal. And it’s not about the Mumbai blasts, but about the electronic media,”she clarifies.

Audiences liked Gul in Dhoop ,Dor, Manorama…,does she think people will like her in Straight as well? “I have always assured that I choose different kind of roles.That’s what people like about me,”she says.

The buzz in the ad world these days is that Genelia D’Souza’s had signed a new endorsement deal. After making space for herself in Rani Mukherji’s territory, by signing up to endorse soft drink… Fanta, Genei baby has now stepped into Preity Zinta’s shoes.

Although a bit late in the day…much after Zinta’s contract with Cadbury’s Perk ended, D’Souza has been signed on as its new brand ambassador. Of course, Genei baby is being paid far lesser than the effervescent Zinta. Recession and cost-cutting and what not???

Anyway, it doesn’t matter all that much to Genelia. Now she has one more reason to perk up, pun unintended.

Preity Zinta’s film gets a new name

Preity Zinta’s Canadian film about domestic violence, ‘Heaven On Earth’ has got a new name. It’ll be released in India under the title ‘Videsh’. The film shows a Punjabi woman as the victim of domestic violence in the immigrant community in Canada and is set to open in bIndian theatres.

‘Heaven On Earth’ had opened to very positive response in Canada. Preity even bagged Best Actress Award at 44th Chicago Film Festival for her performance. She won Silver Hugo Award for Best Actress “for her strong yet subtle performance as a woman struggling to keep her dreams despite brutal realities”. It has also been nominated for the best original screenplay at the 24th Genie Awards. Preity has bagged a nomination in the best actress category.




The Hindi version of NRI filmmaker Deepa Mehta’s Punjabi film will get that name. The movie will be released under the banner B.R. Films and is scheduled for March release but the production house hasn’t confirmed any date yet.

Sanjay Bhutian, CEO of BR Films said in a press statement, “We didn’t want our Indian audiences to misinterpret the title ‘Heaven on Earth’ to be an English film. Hence we changed the film’s name to ‘Videsh’ as
this would connect well with the Indian audiences.” Let’s hope the movie rocks in India too, the way it has rocked abroad.

Gals go crazy on Abhi in Delhi!!!

It was the grand primere of much awaited comeback film of director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi-6 that released on February 20.

The red carpet was set, the barricades grounded, and the security tight. But nothing could prevent Delhi girls to hoot at the highest tempo to shake hands, express their love and catch a glimpse of their guarded star Abhishek Bachchan. Written and directed by Mehra, the UTV produced film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Prem Chopra, Waheeda Rehman and Atul Kulkarni - who were also present at the
occasion.

Also present at the event were a bevy of Bollywood stars including, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor and movie's producer Ronnie Screwala. Women from all age groups - married, college going and teenage girls - filled the environment with an energy to meet Abhishek at PVR Priya in New Delhi on Thursday night.





"Abhishek I love you", "Abhishek marry me", "Abhishek, you are the best" were among the many slogans the fair-sex aficionados couldn't stop shouting when the whole star cast of Delhi-6 arrived at the event.

"I have been here since the last three hours and I am not leaving the place until I shake hands with Abhishek," said Richa Yadav, a Class 12 student from DPS, Mathura Road, who finally managed to capture pictures of her star from the least distance across the barricade.

Hooted a gang of eight girls from Delhi University: "Abhishek, you have to pick one from us. We won't let you go."

Abhi himself was overwhelmed with the response."It's mind blowing. It's amazing. I love Delhi and the response and zeal of the people here is fantastic. I hope it remains the same in theatres as well," said Abhishek, who looked really hap in a jet-black three-piece suit.

Lara Wears Dirty Sarees In Billu

The gorgeous, bollywood Actress Lara Dutta is doing the role of a village housewife in Shahrukh Khan's home anner production "Billu" that was earlier titled "Billu Barber". Lara Dutta wears dirty sarees in Billu to relate herself as a common village woman.

As per the latest news, Lara Dutta wore a no make-up look throughout the film for the first time. Her sarees were old , soaked in tea and dried. And Lara wore them because that fitted the role of a simple, in fact, poverty ridden wife of a common village barber.

Lara also walked bare foot which was a difficult job but Lara had to do it inorder to satisfy the requirements of the character.

The unit had to walk through muddy water and pot holes since there was no proper road to the desired location. If we talk about perfection, Lara Dutta's dedication is clearly seen in the film.

Lara's character will be one of the highlights of the film. And, for those who thought Priyadarshan only makes senseless movies, Billu will surely prove to be an eye opener for all.

Deepika-Sonam's-Dostana

Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor much to our surprise have become very great friends. Recently Sonam asked Deepika to attend Slumdog Millionaire’s Indian premiere.Ranbir, Sonam, Deepika and her ex-boyfriend Nihar Pandya have been out together. The truth is that Ranbir has no issues with Deepika being friends with Nihar.







The source also revealed that Deepika recently congratulated Sonam for the great music of Delhi-6, They are regularly in touch with each other on SMS. Some kind of friction is found between Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar on the sets of "Blue". And the reason for this could be that Sanjay felt that Akshay was overshadowing him in the film.Blue is one of the high budget films of Bollywood. 100 crore are already spent on the film and 80% of the film is already completed. Now the director of the film is trying to put together Sanjay and Akshay back and complete the remaining portion.





It has also revealed that Sanjay and Akshay used to get along well. Sanjay also felt that director Anthony D’souza is favoring Akshay Kumar after the successful run that he has been enjoying at the box-office in recent times.It was also heard that Sanjay is delaying the film and trying to make matters worse, Sanjay feels that it was Akshay who spread these rumors.






The other reason that can be stated was that Sanjay started coming late on the sets for shooting, while the other actors used to wait for him. Due to this the whole schedule was changed.
The entire unit including Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta were kept waiting every day on the sets while Sanjay Dutt always reported late. But finally the director managed to put both the actors Akshay Kumar and Sunjay Dutt together,and the remaining portion of the film would be completed by this month. But it has also come to notice that Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar have no problem working together and both are best friends...

Injured Shahrukh can't wait for Billu Barber

Now a days King Khan, Shahrukh, is busy in promoting his forthcoming movie Billu Barber instead of resting his aching shoulder as he got injured recently. Shahrukh khan is a kind of person who always believes in his work whether he is injured too.

During the shooting of 'My Name Is Khan', He had come back from Los Angles mid way to fix his injured shoulder. But, now it is heard that the surgery has been postponed due to the promoting activities of forthcoming film 'Billu Barber'. Other reason is that Lead actor of 'Billu Barber', Irfan Khan is also busy in attending the several events and international award functions as he is a cast member of 'Slumdog Millionaire'. In movie, Shahrukh only plays a extended comeo role but he film needs to work out at the box office as it is his home production too.

'Billu Barber' will hit the big screens on February 13 and Shahrukh is vigorously promoting the film to get a grand opening.

No regrets about Slumdog : A R Rahman

A R Rahman, One of Oscar nominee, is not worried about the people who complain that the hit film "Slumdog Millionaire" casts India in a negative light withe its portrayal picture of Mumbai slums. Rahman has no regrets as he is a part of Slumdog Millionaire. He suggests the critics not to criticise the movie instead of make it own film.

Rahman believes that Slumdog Millionaire represents the past reality of our country as well as also expresses the economic growth of India in a beautiful way. In Oscar, Rahman has been called for his three Oscar nominations for "Slumdog Millionaire" -- for best original score and the songs "O ... Saya" and "Jai Ho".


"In my opinion if creative people want to comment on a film, and if I were a director and felt that way, I would make another film and prove my point and say this is what India is about," Rahman told before returning home to work on film scores before participating in the February 22 Oscars awards show.

Happy Birthday Abhishek Bachchan!!

Today, junior bachchan, Abhishek enters new year in his life as he turns 33. Abhishek made an entry into this world on February 5, 1976. After completing his education from Boston University, Abhishek debuted with J P dutta’s Refugee in 2000. But movie did not do well at box office. In 2004, Abhishek proved himself by delivering a out - standing performance in Dhoom and Yuva. After great performance in Maniratnam’s Guru, he has set up himself as a leading bollywood superstar in Industry.

After the success of Dostana, Abhishek is gearing up himself for his upcoming movie Delhi 6 which is directed by Rang de basanti fame director Rakyesh OmPrakash Mehra, which hits the screens on 20th February.

On his 33rd b’day, he is in the US with wife Aishwarya Rai and dad Amitabh Bachchan at the premiere of the Ash-starrer ‘The Pink Panther 2’. But soon he would fly to India to promote ‘Delhi 6’ before its release on February 20.
