Jimmy Shergill Overseas Superstar

Manmohan Singh
,Cinematographer turned director, is continuing his winning streak in the arena of film making.

Manmohan Singh has made quite a few Punjabi films in the past and each of them has been successful at the box office. Ditto for Jimmy Sheirgill who recently delivered a Punjabi super hit in Tera Mera Ki Rishta. Now add one more in the list, Munde U.K De, which has done very good business in its two week run at the box office.

In spite of rising mercury, IPL extravaganza and political maha kumbh, Manmohan Singh's romantic comedy Munde U.K. De has struck gold at the box office by raking in Rs 10 million in the opening week. It has been super strong even in it's second week while third weekend has opened well too. This makes it the most successful opening for the maverick director.

Presented by Kamal Mukut as a Mukutwalas & Punj-aab Movies International presentation, Munde U.K. De is a story of two guys [Jimmy Sheirgill, Gurpreet Guggi] who are born in U.K. and come to Punjab (India) for the first time. Soon after their arrival, they get a cultural shock of the two different worlds. It is about these protagonists realizing what their true culture and roots are.

When it comes to Punjabi films, the hype and curiosity around Munde U.K. De was quite high when compared to some other big releases this year. In this context, since huge hype comes with huge expectations, Munde U.K. De has certainly lived up to all the expectations. The
reviews from most critics have varied from good to excellent while audience verdict has been a clear 'Thumbs Up' as well.

The movie has eight songs sung by bigwigs from Punjabi music industry and Bollywood. The song 'Do Ghut Peelay' by Sunidhi Chauhan entered the Top 20 chartbusters tracks for on BBC Music.

In overseas too, the film is a huge success and that is quite apparent
if one browses through the collections. With such stupendous success
of the movie, the makers will now soon be releasing Munde U.K. De in
Singapore and U.S.A. as well.
